Tuesday, September 23, 2008

well, it has been a long, long time since daddy has update my blog....and we are still waiting for him to upload the pictures from my 3rd birthday party on August 9th, 2008!! so, feel free to e-mail him and ask him where the pictures are...cuz i sure don't know why they are posted!

in the meantime, i started pre-school at oscar mayer public school, in the montessori program. the class is kinda big, so i am still learning everyone's names...and i have not been sleeping at naptime, so i keep falling asleep on the back of mommy's bike on the way home from school! otherwise, i like school so far and i like my teachers, ms. ashley and ms. beth:-) i have drama, art, music, PE, and library classes once a week...and the rest of the time, i am learning all sorts of new things...days of the week, poems, writing and recognizing letters...and how to be even more independent, if that is possible ('i can do it all by myself!').

we are enjoying the nice weather as much as we can...hope you are too!!

Well, Daddy (and Mommy) have neglected to post photos for a long time, but in the meantime, I have had a bunch of accomplishments:
  • walking
  • talking (at least a couple of new words a day...too many words to count. last week i started saying "Zara" and "Murphy"..and i can put 2 and 3 words together to get my point across.)
  • teething (i have 5 teeth!)
  • chewing (i can eat apples!)
  • sitting on the toilet
  • taking my boots & clothes on and off....many times, for many hours
  • reading (or maybe i should say, reciting what comes next in the book)
  • learning letters (a, b, z)
  • learning numbers (1, 2, 3)
  • learning colors (pink, blue, yellow)
  • making every animal sound possible (included whales, thx to daddy's tutelage)
  • taking swimming lessons (kick, kick....bubbles)
  • learning French (vraiment!)
  • being cute in general and saying "cute" when i know just how cute i really am!
  • sitting on Mommy's face when she is sleeping
hmmm, well, i think that's it for now...so if you are ready for some revealing photos of me, get comfortable and start clicking on the links below....

Wow, I've been a busy beaver these past few months. Learning to walk takes a lot out of you. I haven't walked solo yet, but it will be any day now.
I've learned some new words, such as "thank you" and "banana" and I can sign "banana" too.

I got way behind in posting my pictures, but I'm on top of it now.
Here are JULY PICTURES.

August was super busy. I went to the Fields - Goodman family reunion in Steamboat Colorado. Here are the STEAMBOAT PICTURES.

Went to my first Cubs game yesterday! Go Cubbies!

Ok, so if you are wondering why one of the pictures is a plastic potty, it's because last week I figured out how to go pee-pee in the potty! Not bad for ten months old, eh? I intend to be a very eco-friendly baby, using the potty instead of diapers that go into landfills, or have to be washed, wasting water and energy.

Busy day today. I woke at 7am, wet. I called for assistance, but mommy and Daddy were fast asleep. I continued to call out, daddy kept snoozing, and Mommy had to lick him in the back ten times before he finaly got up to change me.

Finally, daddy had me in a dry diaper, and managed to carry me to the bed where Mommy could nurse me. I was starving. I drank every drop she had.

The rest of the day was spent peeing, pooping, eating and napping. Grandma, Zadie, and my cousin Max came to visit. They fed me some delicious squash. Yum.

My first blog! All the baby books, and grandmothers, keep yapping about how one should maintain a "baby diary" or some such baby book. You know, to keep track of developmental milestones like first words, etc.

Well my daddy, who is also my ghostwriter until I learn to communicate better, decided to do this using the web-log format. So here we all are.

As Daddy types this, I'm grabbing at his lower lip, very hard, with my long finger nails. Thats fun!
